My apothecary

~~~🌿💫🌱Herbs I keep in my apothecary cabinet.  Here's a few of my favorite:

(Use in tincture/tea)
1.) Valerian Root- is good for treating menopausal symptoms and helps care for anxiety issues. Also known as a natural sleep aid.
2.) Chamomile - is good for calming and soothing the nervous system. Also offers antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties.
3.) Red raspberry leaf- woman herb. Effective for menstrual irregularity and cramps.  It's been said that women take throughout pregnancy to tone and strengthen the uterus, help with delivery, give some iron and energy, and help prevent postpartum hemorrhage.
4.) Astragalus - strengthens the body as a general immune tonic, especially if taken over long periods of time. Balances the energy of all organs, increases energy, supports digestion.
5.) peppermint leaves- eases general indigestion, flatulence, colic, irritable bowel syndrome, nausea, vomiting, cold and flu. 

6. Licorice root- it is a herb  of choice for soothing irritated and inflamed tissue such as it n cases of sore throat, bronchial inflammation, and stomach and bowel irritation.
7.) Ashwagandha- helps our body adapt to and deal with stress in all areas- body, mind, spirit.  Also keep balance and conserve energy.
8.) Burdock root- is one of the best herbs for skin problems and can be used internally and externally to treat eczema, psoriasis, and other skin- related imbalances.
9.) Dandelion root- a classic liver tonic or "blood purifier", with a stimulating and decongesting effect on the liver.
10.) Red clover-  along time history of use as a blood and lymphatic cleanser. Also helps with treating skin conditions.
11.) Spearmint leaves - is a mild digestive aid.  Also has stimulating properties to help strengthen and relax the nervous system.
12.) Angelica root-  an excellent herb to aid with menstruation and cramps.
13.) Ginger root-  known for treating aliments that range from cramps to nausea. Also a natural blood thinner that can lower cholesterol, and it's ability to raise body heat and purge toxins makes it ideal for use in cold and flu treatments.
14.) Clove- helps with tooth pain and oral pain.
15.) Elderberry- has immune - enhancing properties. The berries also have powerful antiviral properties and so are helpful in treating viral infections including flus, herpes, and shingles. Also used for treating upper respiratory infections.
16.) Echinacea - raises the body's  natural resistance to infection by stimulating and aiding immune function. Also has antibacterial and anti- bacterial properties.
17.) Calendula - is a powerful vulnerary, healing wounds by promoting cell repair and growth.  It can help keep infections at bay.
18.) Motherwort - strengthens the heart( emotionally and physically), beneficial for nerve pain, high blood pressure, nervous palpitation, disturbed sleep, general pain relief, emotional turbulence, hysteria, convulsions.
19.) lemon balm - eases digestive problems,  nervousness, insomnia, depression, migraines, stress, hypertension, herpes symplex and zoster, restlessness, palpitations, and  fevers.
20.) Lemongrass - soothing herb and  insect repellent.

Reminder: if you are taking any type of medication that is treating a life-threatening condition please consult with your physician before trying holistic herbal approach. 
Honestly....I believe everyone just do there own research! 

Do not take herbal supplements while pregnant.

Baby and children safe herbs:
1.) Lavender-good for relaxation and rest
2.) Chamomile - eases digestive distress 
3.) Elderberry - protects and cure illness from cold/flu
4.) Lemon balm- anti inflammatory and helps ease mild fevers
5.)Ginger- helps with upset stomach issues 
6.) Peppermint - reduces bloating and gas. Also helps reduce diarrhea and upper gastrointestinal cramps 


Herbs safe for cats and dogs:
1.)catnip- mood activity stimulant 
2.) Licorice Root - anti itch, regulates digestive tract and regulates organ function and soothes bowels 
3.)mint- natural pest repellent, soothing for the skin and promotes relaxation 
4.) Basil- it's anti-inflammatory, relieves anxiety and is antibacterial 
5.) Thyme- has antioxidant properties, antibacterial and antifungal properties. Good source of dietary fiber
6.) Parsley- boost immune system, great source of vitamin a,c, and k and supports good eyesight.🌿💫🌱
